The Tanzania Public Service College (TPSC) was established in 2000 under the Executive Agencies Act, Cap. 245. It operates as a semi-autonomous government agency under the Office of the President, Public Service Management and Good Governance (PO-PSMGG). TPSC is also registered with the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) to offer long-term training programs.

The main objective of TPSC is to complement government efforts in improving public service delivery by ensuring the availability of trained and skilled human resources to manage the economy. The college is tasked with providing competence-based learning programs for public sector organizations, state-owned institutions, and public servants in Tanzania. TPSC achieves this through the design, development, and delivery of demand-driven training programs, consulting services, and applied research.
