The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS), on behalf of The Planning Commission (PC), is seeking talented, results-oriented, energetic, inventive, experienced, and competent Tanzanians to fill five (5) vacant director positions and two (2) manager positions. The following are the specific requirements for each listed position.
The Planning Commission was founded via the Planning Commission Act No. 1 of 2023 and is in charge of managing the economy, the planning process, and implementing authorized national development plans to ensure long-term national economic growth and development. The Commission reports to the President’s Office and will function as a think tank, bringing together individuals with respected knowledge and competences in planning, research, innovation, performance monitoring, and assessment. The Planning Commission (PC) aims to foster a cohesive planning strategy.
Open Positions and Description
1. Director of Innovation, Research and Development
- Has a Master’s degree in one of the following fields: Economics, Statistics, Economics and Statistics, Project Planning and Management, Economics Planning, Planning and Investment, Finance, or Business Administration with a major in Finance from a recognized university. A master degree must be tied to a bachelor’s degree. Experience in working with the Planning Commission (PC) is highly desirable.
2. Director of Trade and Private Sector Engagement
- To analyze the international trade situation and advise on policies and methods for developing external trade. Knowledge of the Planning Commission’s (PC) objectives is essential.
3. Director of National Key Results Areas
- Coordinate and support the implementation of NKRA programs; aligning efforts with the broader goals of the Planning Commission (PC).
4. Director of Performance, Monitoring and Evaluation
- To supervise the implementation of Cabinet decisions in subjects of planning and economic management; ensuring alignment with the Planning Commission’s (PC) directives.
5. Director of National Planning
- To analyze various existing policies with the aim of increasing their execution in terms of development planning, and to propose new policies when it is deemed necessary in the national interest. Coordination with the Planning Commission (PC) is required.
6. Manager of Systems and Capacity Building
- To oversee the implementation of the national M&E capacity-building programme. This role supports the overarching framework laid out by the Planning Commission (PC).
7. Manager Innovation
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Executive Secretary, including tasks that support the vision of the Planning Commission (PC).
