In 2002, Barrick North Mara began producing goods for retail markets. The mine makes use of two deposits: Gokona, an underground mine, and Nyabirama, an open pit mine. On average, the processing plant can handle 8,000 tonnes of ore each day.
The North Mara gold mine (Barrick Gold Corporation) is located in the Tarime district of the Mara region in northwest Tanzania. It is located around 20 kilometers south of the Kenyan border and 100 kilometers east of Lake Victoria.
Responsibilities:
- Make sure that safe work practices are followed, including obligatory safety meetings and training, the use of PPE when needed, incident and accident reporting, and strict adherence to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to occupational health, safety, and the environment.
- Plan and arrange personnel, equipment, and resources to guarantee that the mining schedule is followed.
- Acquire, verify, and enhance information. Compile reports and send them in. Run reports on data exceptions and implement corrective measures. Perform spot inspections for document control (5 points).
- Determine reoccurring issues and come up with team-wide remedies.
- Honor and praise the efforts of your teammates.
- Encourage and guarantee adherence to environmental, health, and safety protocols. Recognize dangerous and risky circumstances
- Examine the operating plans that have been approved. Determine how resources and processes must be utilised / applied to achieve objectives
Qualification required:
- Ordinary level certificate – Form IV and above level
- Blasting Certificate
- Valid driving license
Experience required:
- Three years minimum of drill and blast experience
- Two years or more of experience in a supervisory capacity
- Two years or more of load and haul mining operations experience
- A minimum of two years of Miner construction experience
Skills / Knowledge Requirement:
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Identification of hazards and evaluation of risks
- Awareness of Mine Health and Safety Act.
