Open Positions and Description
1. Operator 1—Dump Truck—15 Positions
The purpose of this position is to drive a dump truck in support of mining operations, perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment, and ensure that work is completed as planned while strictly adhering to safety protocols and practices.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Secondary School Education.
- Applicants must have completed a formal driving course and hold a valid certificate from a recognized institution.
- The incumbent must have a valid Tanzanian driving license class C, D, E & F.
2. Public Relations & Communications Officer
We are looking for an outstanding creative candidate who can fully support the PR and Communications Unit is functions in implementing the company’s communications strategy and work plan to ensure that employees and external stakeholders are well informed, involved, and enthusiastic about Geita Gold Mining Limited and its initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, mass communications, marketing, or international relations.
3. Superintendent 2: OP Mine Production
The primary responsibility of this role is to supervise the safe, efficient, and timely loading and hauling of materials from the Nyamulilima pit, ensuring production targets are met while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of secondary school education with extensive experience in supervising open-pit mining operations.
- The incumbent must have a valid Tanzanian driving license and site driving permit.
4. Operator 3: Excavator
This role in the mining pit is responsible for carrying out the mining production plan in an effective and safe manner by utilizing advanced technical skills, operational experience, and knowledge of earthmoving equipment.
Qualifications:
- Secondary school education has been completed.
- Applicants must have completed a formal driving course and possess a valid certificate from a recognized institution.
- The incumbent must hold a valid Tanzanian driver’s license.
5. Manager, Geotechnical
This role is in charge of selecting and implementing best-case geotechnical plans and designs in order to achieve the primary goal of optimizing mineral resource extraction by balancing value extraction against geotechnical risk. Providing an adequate understanding of Life of Mine geotechnical risks, developing and recommending options for appropriate mitigation measures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or its equivalent.
- Postgraduate diploma or degree in geotechnical engineering if the first degree is not in geotechnical or engineering geology.
6. Technician 1: Ore Control
To conduct sampling and drilling activities related to DD and RC drilling operations and activities in support of the evaluation superintendent to archive the set targets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) and/or Certificate/Diploma in Geology.
- Possession of a valid Tanzanian Driving License will be an added advantage.
7. Assistant 1-Evaluation
To conduct sampling and drilling activities related to DD and RC drilling operations, as well as activities to assist the evaluation superintendent in archiving the set targets.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of working experience in geology/mining environment.
8. Supervisor, Mine Geology
To oversee and maintain an effective grade control drilling, ore mining, and movement process to ensure that only the proper ore materials are delivered to the mill.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Geology, Exploration, and/or Mining.
- Valid Tanzanian Driving License with Mining Driving Permit.
9. Coordinator 2, Logistics
To ensure that supplies and materials are moved and distributed effectively, as well as received safely. Follow up on shipments to make sure the consignments are shipped from suppliers/freight agents to our destination, arriving on time and safely; also ensuring all cargo clearance activities are done timely and compliant with customs regulations and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Advanced/Higher Diploma in Materials Management, or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics Management.
- Must be registered with PSPTB.
10. Paramedic – Health
To ensure that Geita Gold Mine’s emergency response program meets international standards for timely response, cost effectiveness, and operational level.
Qualifications:
- Secondary education completed, with a diploma in nursing/clinical officer and paramedic.
- Accredited authorities give qualifications including BLS, ACLS, ITLS, and critical care monitoring.
- Registered with either the Medical Council of Tanganyika or the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Must have a valid Tanzanian Driving License Class B & D and pass a site driving examination.
11. Controller 1: Mchauru Aerodrome
To coordinate and manage day-to-day Mchauru Aerodrome operations in line with Tanzania Civil Aviation Regulations and AGA/GGML Policies and Procedures for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- National Diploma of Relevant Studies in Civil Aviation from a recognized college or institution.
- Certificate/License of Aeronautical Mobile Service (AFIS)/Air Traffic Control License recognised by ICAO and TCAA
- AFSO Certified
- Certificate/License for Area Control, Approach, and Aerodrome
- ICAO English Proficiency Level 4
- Current Aviation Refresher Training Records.
12. Officer 2: Emergency Response
To be responsible for maintaining an emergency response program on the Geita Gold Mine site to a standard that is compatible with international practice and undertaken in a timely and cost-effective way.
Qualifications:
- Ordinary Secondary Education or Above.
- Certificate in mine rescue operation issued by accredited authority.
