National Youth Information Centre (NICE) is a local non-governmental and non-profit organization formed and registered in 2001 under Trustees’ incorporation ordinance of 1956 (cap. 375); thereafter, it was awarded with NGO’s compliance certificate number 0768 in 2008.
The organization has the vision of building Tanzania with youth that are healthier, educated, functioning, and whose human rights are respected. NICE empowers youth to make informed decisions about all aspects of their lives through the provision of information in the form of training, research, advocacy, publications, and documentation.
NICE is seeking highly ambitious and self-driven candidates to fill the following position in Madaba District, Ruvuma Region.
Main accountabilities and responsibilities:
The employee is expected to do the following, with the agreement of the employer or his supervisor:
- Update client records in the NICE database and the DHIS2 Data Entry Tracker on a daily basis.
- Ensure that all client records are appropriately preserved and monitored in accordance with the national rules for the safeguarding of confidential client information.
- Ensure that all project reports are of good quality and submitted on time to program reporting systems.
- Perform routine data analysis and display of key sets of HIV/AIDS indicator progress on a monthly/quarterly basis, and share findings with NICE staff for use and decision-making.
- On a monthly basis, update the PLHIV master registers and books, and ensure that all exits are allotted.
- As per the M&E/Data Manager’s request, submit all donor reporting requests.
- Participate in the internal data quality assessment for key indicator progress.
- Perform a monthly data cleaning process for the corresponding indicators reported.
- Provide EpiC program staff with the required support and assistance regarding data requests.
- Volunteers and NICE technical personnel will receive on-the-job data management training.
- Ensure that the data clerk’s work desk/space is always clean and free of dust and other dangerous substances.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the employer or his representative.
Minimum Qualification:
A diploma in computer science, records management, information technology, or community development, as well as a bachelor’s degree, would be advantageous.
Key competencies and attributes:
- Must have computer abilities and knowledge of at least Microsoft Word and Excel.
- High integrity and honesty.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented
- Good interpersonal skills.
