One position for an eager financial accountant is available at Mbeya Cement’s Mbeya Plant. The finance manager is the person to whom this position reports.
Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
- Verify that all Journal Entries are correctly and punctually posted into the ERP system.
- Responsible for preserving all trial balance sheet accounts and ensuring that analysis or reconciliations support all balance sheet account balances to demonstrate their accuracy, completeness, and validity.
- Keep track of all transactions recorded in the Fixed Assets register, including WIP, new assets, capitalizations, sales, and write-offs.
- Monitor and review all accruals and provisions entered into the system to ensure their accuracy and adherence to IAS and IFRS.
- Oversee the business’s insurance policies, including policy renewals and claims processing, and act as a middleman between the company, the insurance provider, and the broker;
- Participate actively in the audit and timely signing of the company’s statutory financial statements, if needed.
- Maintain a regular schedule for the beginning and end of financial periods.
Qualification:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Professional qualification: Certified Public Accountant or Affiliate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Requirements for this position include at least three (3) years of expertise in manufacturing or financial auditing, with a preference for financial accounting.
