UBA Tanzania operates eight(8) branches in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Dodoma , Arusha and Rufiji, offering corporate commercial and retail banking services to customers across the country.
The function entails assisting with risk management supervision and management of strategic, credit, operational, and market risks, such as monitoring financial performance, executing risk management plans, and advising on risk-related problems. It maintains regulatory compliance, does stress tests, and handles breach reports. The function also includes credit risk policy formulation, risk assessment, exposure monitoring and reporting, audit follow-up, system risk monitoring, and the maintenance of risk appetite criteria for operational and market risk, including liquidity monitoring and reporting.

- Regulatory Compliance
- Monthly or quarterly reporting of financial performance against the budget
- Monthly and quarterly Stress Testing Reports
- Daily Breach Monitoring and Timely Reporting, Escalation
- Advisory Effectiveness: the effect of risk-related advice.
- Management / Bank Adhere to credit risk rules and procedures
- Credit Risk Assessment Accuracy and Feedback.
- Percentage of credit exposures monitored and kept within acceptable levels.
- Credit risk measurements and trend data are both timely and accurate.
- Number of internal and regulatory violations reported and escalated.
- The non-performing loan (NPL) ratio
- Audit problems were resolved within the given period.
- The completeness and sufficiency of KRLs were assessed and escalated.
- The frequency of system and product risk assessments, as well as the reporting of events.
- Risks reported fell under the risk appetite levels.
- The frequency and severity of risk occurrences reported and resolved.
- Complying with operational risk rules and best practices
- Accuracy and thoroughness of daily forex deal capture
- Timeliness and correctness of market risk positions, profit and loss statements, and limit breach reports
- The frequency and scope of daily liquidity stress testing
- Completeness and accuracy of market risk recording and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Accounting, economics, computer science, or other related areas need a bachelor’s degree.
- Operational risk experience in the financial services business.
- Business product expertise, including a comprehension of financial operations.
- Practical understanding of how to enter, access, and use network/system information for trend analysis and forecasting.
- Excellent knowledge of treasury, its products, and risk-related aspects
- Three years of experience working in a hectic financial setting would be beneficial.
- ACI Dealing Certificate(s) will be an additional benefit.
