TANROADS is hiring Personal Secretary

Successful applicants must prepare to work within Njombe District for extended periods as required by the project.

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) operates under the Ministry of Works, responsible for the development and maintenance of the trunk and regional roads network in Tanzania Mainland. TanROADS also conducts axle load control operations and oversees airport construction.

TANROADS has entered into a contract with the Government of Tanzania for the upgrading of the Isyonje-Makete Regional Road (96.2 KM) to bitumen standard, the Kitulo-Iniho Road Section (36.3 KM), and the construction of a weighbridge at Igagala Village (Contract No. TRD/HQ/1022/2022/23). To supervise this project, the Regional Manager’s Office, TANROADS-Njombe, seeks to recruit qualified personnel on a short-term contract.

Position Title

1. Personal Secretary (1 Post)

Educational/Professional Qualifications:

  • A certificate in secretarial services or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • National Form IV/VI certificate.
  • Typing/shorthand speed of at least 60/80 words per minute.
  • Outstanding word processing and spreadsheet skills.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working on road building projects in a consulting business.

Competence:

  • Computer literate.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
  • Self-motivated and capable of performing under pressure with little supervision.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Type memos, letters, diagrams, reports, minutes, and circulars.
  • Managing the project manager’s schedule of appointments and responsibilities.
  • Connecting consumers, clients, and visitors with the appropriate officials.
  • Ensure the quality of reports and other project documents.
  • Keeping records and answering phone calls.
  • Taking minutes and executing other secretarial tasks as specified.
