Management and Development for Health (MDH) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose major goal is to help meet Tanzanian and global public health issues. These priorities include infectious illnesses including HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria; reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH); nutrition; noncommunicable diseases with public health implications; and health system strengthening. MDH strongly supports and collaborates with a variety of local and global institutions, including the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, and Children (MOHCDGEC), the President’s Office Regional Authorities and Local Government (PORALG), donor agencies, academic and non-academic institutions, implementing partners, civil society, community-based and faith-based organizations, and others.
MDH, in collaboration with Dar es Salaam City Council, Temeke, Kinondoni, Kigamboni, and Ubungo Municipal Councils, invites suitable candidates to apply for the following posts:
Job Title: Logistics Officer (10 posts)
Location: Dar es Salaam City Council, Temeke, Ubungo, Kigamboni, and Kinondoni Municipal Councils.
Reports to: Facility In-charge
Duties and responsibilities:
- Collect specimens from health facilities and provide test findings to facilities.
- Assist in the distribution of tools, materials, and equipment to health facilities and other designated locations.
- Always drive cautiously to guarantee your own and the motorcycle’s safety.
- Perform frequent motorcycle inspections to identify and report maintenance requirements on time.
- Maintain the motorcycle in excellent condition at all times.
- Maintain up-to-date motorcycle fuel and service cost records, and ensure that all mandatory motorcycle reports are completed properly and punctually.
- Perform any additional responsibilities given by the supervisor, transport officer, or site manager.
Requirements: Education, Work experience and Skills:
- A minimum of secondary school education with excellent English and Kiswahili scores.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English, as well as Kiswahili, is needed.
- A driving certificate from a recognized institution, as well as a VETA certificate, is advantageous.
- Valid ‘A’ class driver’s license. License class ‘B’ is an extra benefit.
- A minimum of three (3) years of driving experience in the public or private sectors.
- Able to ride a motorcycle.
- Honest, trustworthy, and capable of maintaining secrecy.
- Self-assured with verifiable innovativeness and an established track record of honesty.
- Ability to capture and retain trip information as taught.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Ability and desire to work extended hours, including weekends.
- Flexibility is the capacity to react to unexpected changes in project requirements at short notice.
