This role primarily focuses on leading packaging shift teams to meet production volume targets while adhering to strict safety standards. AB Inbev Tanzania is Hiring packaging team leader. The position ensures all packaged products comply with ABInBev’s rigorous quality process specifications. By fostering a disciplined and efficient work environment, the role drives consistent output and upholds operational excellence.
The individual oversees the safety of all team members during their shift, enforcing personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance and addressing non-compliance with authority. They ensure machine safety through practices like permit-to-work (PTW), lockout-tagout (LOTO), and safety assurance management (SAM). Additionally, they verify that process checks occur at prescribed intervals, maintaining high operational standards.
The role involves managing operator compliance to deliver quality packaged products to the warehouse. When processes deviate, the individual leads problem-solving efforts to restore control. They also confirm adherence to daily routines outlined in the Agenda of Routine, ensuring smooth and predictable operations. This hands-on leadership fosters accountability and precision across the team.
Daily responsibilities include executing production schedules, managing changeovers, and overseeing cleaning, lubrication, and autonomous maintenance tasks. The individual operates line equipment when necessary, providing direct shop floor support. They train operators on standards, verify proper execution, and escalate significant issues to the unit manager or packaging manager. Completing shift result reports, quality failure reports (QFR), 5 Why analyses, and abnormality reports ensures effective shift handovers.
The role also encompasses team development, including facilitating planned training, controlling hourly employees’ work hours, and resolving shift-related issues. The individual creates a training needs analysis (TNA) plan to enhance team skills. By fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment, they strengthen team performance and morale.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial, instrumental, chemical, or process engineering and have completed ABInBev’s packaging traineeship, leadership, or artisan training. A minimum of 3-5 years of factory production experience, particularly in shift production, is required. A proven track record of disciplined work ethic, problem-solving passion, and commitment to continuous improvement is essential.
