Barrick North Mara began manufacturing items for retail sale in 2002. The mine operates two deposits: Nyabirama, an open pit, and Gokona, an underground mine. The processing unit can handle an average of 8,000 tonnes of ore each day.
The North Mara gold mine (Barrick Gold Corporation) is located in the Tarime district of the Mara region, northwest Tanzania. It is located approximately 100 kilometers east of Lake Victoria and 20 kilometers south of the Kenyan border.
Responsibilities:
- Enter fuel usage data into the Fuel Database.
- Create work orders (breakdowns). Printout for Technicians to Sign
- Organize parts for the underground and surface workshops.
- Prepare a mid-shift report (dayshift).
- Prepare a running downtime report for the end of shift handover.
- Control office supplies.
- Ensure that the components are cleaned, tagged, and sent to the store/component shop.
- Work closely with the surface and underground supervisors to guarantee workshop efficiency.
- Prepare and record data from different documents.
- Update the maintenance board.
- Attending required safety training and meetings will help to ensure safe working practices.
- Good computer and writing skills.
- High standards in the use of Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to read and comprehend machinery manuals, including parts/technical and schematic diagrams.
Qualification requirements:
- Ordinary secondary education
- Valid Tanzanian driving license
Experience requirements:
- A minimum of three years of experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Experience with Microsoft Office is required, while SAP knowledge is desired.
Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
- Excellent English communication, both written and conversational.
- Hazard identification and risk assessment.
- Mine Health and Safety Act Awareness.
