In accordance with the Mining Act Cap. 123 of Tanzania and its corresponding Regulations as well as the Mining (Local Content) Regulations 2018 as amended from time to time, the Procurement & Local Content Specialist will be in charge of managing CLIENT’s local procurement, administration, and local content reporting administration. This will ensure internal, external, and legal compliance.

Procurement administration:

  • In charge of enabling local purchases from vendors and suppliers in compliance with Tanzanian law and CLIENT’S procurement guidelines.
  • looking up suppliers and asking suitable groups of businesses to submit bids and quotes for the necessary task scopes.
  • Oversee and oversee the vendor bidding process for authorized vendors. Provide suppliers and vendors with a clear understanding of the client’s demands and scope of work to guarantee accurate quotes and few gaps.
  • In line with the commercial and technical needs of the client, collaborate with the engineering team and take part in the submission review process. Create reward suggestions that the Mining Commission and the internal staff can approve.
  • Make that all aspects of the procurement process are accurately recorded for both internal and external audits.
  • Verify and haggle over supplier quotes to make sure the client receives the best deal possible.

Key Performance Indicators

  • CLIENTS continues to comply with Mining Commission procurement audits and Local Content standards.
  • Reduce the amount of time it takes for the Mining Commission to approve requests by making sure all guidelines for the procurement process are strictly adhered to.
  • Reports on purchases submitted on time to the Mining Commission.
  • Optimal inventory and supply costs.
  • Timely delivery of the products or services that internal stakeholders have requested.

Skills and Experience

  • More than ten years of experience in procurement from a Tanzanian mining firm.
  • Deep familiarity with Tanzanian mining local content laws.
  • Experience in the procurement procedure of the Tanzanian Mining Commission.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities in English and Kiswahili.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
