Duties and Responsibilities:
- Show ownership of the Sales and Marketing department and make sure all employees are aware of its goals and strategic direction.
- Oversee the company’s sales and marketing plans and make sure they are in line with DCP’s corporate strategy, goals, and objectives.
- Encourage the creation and implementation of a successful framework or plan for customer acquisition, retention, and relationship management in order to maintain and grow the company’s clientele.
- Encourage capacity-building initiatives for all staff categories in the department and establish a customer service-focused culture in the sales force.
- Give general direction and guidance for carrying out the duties and operations of the department.
- Give your approval and oversee the department’s work plans and programs.
- Oversee, manage, and coordinate the department’s daily operations while making sure they are in line with the company’s overarching aims and objectives.
- Create and carry out a thorough sales and marketing strategy to attract sizable customers from the designated customer segments.
- Assure the implementation of an efficient methodology for gaining market share and penetration.
- Assure the creation and implementation of successful channel strategies to increase revenue.
- In order to facilitate efficient decision-making, supervise the gathering of market and industry business intelligence.
- In addition to managing the creation and implementation of an efficient customer relationship management system, keep an eye on and guarantee that the company’s clients receive the best possible services.
- Develop plans to make the best use of market opportunities by keeping up with rival initiatives, consumer demands, and industry trends.
- Attend seminars, trade exhibits, and workshops to stay current on industry developments.
- In charge of creating the department’s yearly budget and keeping an eye on its execution.
- Periodically assess the department’s performance in relation to the goals established and create improvement strategies.
- Oversee the department’s material and people resources to maximize output and performance.
- Assign subordinates specific tasks and keep an eye on them to guarantee a prompt supply of excellent outcomes.
- Encourage, mentor, and guarantee the transfer of knowledge and the development of subordinates’ capacity
- Examine and approve the department’s major expenditures and transactions in accordance with the authorized departmental budget and authorization handbook.
- Organize regular meetings to discuss departmental goals and objectives and to decide on work plans.
- Work with the HR department to create and approve career development plans, and evaluate departmental employees’ performance on a regular basis.
- Create and deliver regular management and activity reports on the department’s operations to the CEO of DCP Tanzania.
- Act on behalf of DCP Tanzania and carry out any other tasks that the CEO may assign you.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or the social sciences, or an equivalent degree.
- A postgraduate degree in a field that is relevant.
- At least three (3) years in a senior management role and a minimum of thirteen (13) years of relevant work experience are required.
- Thorough knowledge of the laws, rules, opportunities, and trends pertaining to the cement production sector.
- Thorough familiarity with DCP’s range of goods and services.
- Excellent knowledge of sales and marketing planning, marketing models, business performance analysis, and techniques and methodologies for business strategy articulation, monitoring, and implementation.
- Excellent understanding of the laws, regulations, and working conditions of both domestic and international industries.
- Excellent knowledge of macro- and microeconomic indicators and how they affect business.
- the capacity to understand the systematic effects of different policies, problems, and solutions, as well as to think strategically and holistically.
- Outstanding people management and leadership abilities.
- Outstanding interpersonal and negotiating abilities.
- Outstanding facilitation, presentation, and communication abilities.
