Job Title: Private Driver/City Tour Guide
Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Dar Es Salaam
Duties and responsibilities:
- As a private driver/city tour guide, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Professionally and safely transport customers in a clean, well-maintained business-provided vehicle in accordance with corporate rules, practices, and procedures.
- Greet customers and react to queries professionally and courteously.
- Always safeguard the safety of customers and provide the best quality of customer service.
- Accept constructive comments without taking them personally, and continue to welcome learning chances.
- Be highly timely and arrive at the client’s location on time.
- Comply with traffic regulations and prioritize the client’s safety above everything else.
- Maybe responsible with offering passengers assistance entering and departing the car, as well as assisting them with any baggage.
- Carefully lift, load/unload, and carry baggage (up to 25 kg) and other passenger(s) possessions.
- Regulate vehicle lighting and ventilation systems for customer comfort.
- Vacuum and clean the inside of your allocated car, as well as wash and shine its outside.
- Must be able to work a diverse schedule, which includes evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
- Perform routine inspections on the vehicle before and after each day’s run.
- Keep track of car insurance, registration, and renewals.
- Complete the driver’s journal on a daily basis, including the name, destination(s), kilometers, and time.
- Ensure adequate maintenance and refill the vehicle as required
- You may be expected to assist in arranging itineraries and accompanying clients for lengthy periods of time.
- Positive and professional attitude, being well-groomed, wearing standard uniforms, and maintaining a clean and polished professional look.
- Actively search for methods to enhance the customer experience.
- Performing additional responsibilities as instructed, developed, or assigned by management on occasion.
Minimum Requirements
- Mastery of written and spoken English is a must.
- At least two years of professional driving experience and a clean driving record.
- Must have a current class C1, C2, C3 Tanzania driving license.
- The ability to operate a manual/stick shift car is an additional benefit.
- Experience with technological gadgets, such as cellphones and tablets
- Consistent timeliness with predictable attendance patterns is essential.
- Excellent time management abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to grasp and follow verbal and written directions
- Knowledge of driving routes and an excellent sense of direction to all essential places, particularly in Dar Es Salaam
- Open to walking and standing sporadically for lengthy periods of time during the working day.
- The work will also demand the capacity to sit for lengthy periods of time while driving a car.
- Capable of reading and interpreting documentation such as procedure manuals and job instructions.
- Have a sound mind and calm temperament in a fast-paced, high-pressure situation.
- Capable of completing standard reports and communications such as trip sheets or inspection forms.
- Team player with excellent work ethics.
