As Head of Operations at dnata Zanzibar, you will manage all aspects of airport operations to meet contractual obligations to stakeholders (customer airlines, freight forwarding companies, private companies, government departments) while controlling capital, income, and expense budgets. To guarantee that all organizational strategic initiatives adhere to Project Management best practices. Plan, manage, and effectively execute projects in accordance with the company’s project practices, standards, and procedures; or represent the company in other large-scale business initiatives within the group.
In this role, you will:
- Manage all operational divisions, including customer service, aircraft appearance, turnaround, baggage, load control, and cargo, to guarantee safe and cost-effective flight operations.
- Develop and implement a wide functional strategy for airport operations across the organization.
- Ensure that departmental strategies and strategic plans are well-developed and executed.
- Oversee the implementation of policies, systems, and processes to ensure that they comply with procedural and statutory requirements.
- Manage budget formulation, consolidation, and financial performance against the budget.
- Maintain excellent levels of customer service for carriers, private firms, and cargo agents while assuring timely service delivery.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with internal departments and airport authorities to ensure successful coordination and policy compliance.
- Ensure project delivery on schedule, within plan, and under budget by managing them through all phases to achieve objectives and goals.
- Lead with safety by ensuring compliance with appropriate safety rules, holding teams accountable for safety, and instilling a responsible environmental mindset.
- Setting targets, offering feedback, and supporting continual improvement in systems, processes, and practices may all help to manage and encourage employees.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma holder.
- Requirements: 8-10 years of airport operations experience as a ground handling agent, including at least 6 years in a supervisory position.
- Comprehensive understanding of all areas of airport operations, systems, and procedures on an international scale.
- Knowledge of various project management approaches and procedures, as well as sophisticated IT and computer literacy skills.
