We are currently seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the position of Finance Officer- Dar es Salaam for our EpiC project in Tanzania.
Assist the Senior Finance Manager with all financial management, administration, grant management, and project operational tasks. Provide assistance with financial management, accounting, and record keeping within the project, as well as ensuring that all duties performed by implementing partners are carried out efficiently and in accordance with USAID and FHI360 rules, procedures, and laws.
Main Function/Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit monthly financial pipeline and other reports in accordance with FHI360/EpiC regulations and procedures.
- Ensure the timely submission of monthly financial and accounting reports.
- Perform reconciliations for the bank, balance sheet, vendors, and inventory.
- Support the creation of national and regional budgets for program activities, in collaboration with regional finance and program staff.
- Assist in the creation of sub-awardee budgets and provide capacity-building technical assistance to sub-awardee personnel.
- Review sub-awardee monthly financial reports and make planned financial review visits.
- Assist in communication with the bank about all project-related issues, such as bank account balances, checkbook requests, and bank statements.
- Conduct pre-award reviews for implementing partners for qualifying recipients as considered suitable in accordance with the established FHI.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration with 5-7 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree in a related discipline with 3-5 years of relevant experience. CPA, ACA, or other related professional qualifications are preferred.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in financial management and reporting.
- A minimum of two years of grant administration experience is required.
- Budget development skills for USAID-funded projects, as well as general ledger abilities.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven proactive ability to discover cost savings, avoidance, and efficiency opportunities.
- Ability to create an effective work plan and prioritize tasks in order to fulfill corporate objectives.
- Familiarity or knowledge of USAID-funded project and grant management policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing productive relationships with important stakeholders.
