FINCA Tanzania is hiring a project manager for the Youth Empowerment Project to lead the Increasing Economic Opportunities, addressing youth unemployment and gender equality per Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy. Specifically, this initiative empowers youth, especially young women, through vocational training, entrepreneurship, and financial inclusion. Consequently, the project manager will oversee planning, execution, stakeholder coordination, and reporting for timely, high-quality results.
Firstly, the project manager will guide the Youth Empowerment Project with strategic leadership. Moreover, they will connect FINCA Tanzania, FINCA Canada, and partners for seamless collaboration. For example, they will align plans and KPIs with donor expectations and facilitate joint planning sessions. Additionally, they will represent the project in FINCA Tanzania’s Executive Committee and donor forums to support resource mobilization.
Secondly, the role involves creating and updating the project implementation plan and work plans. In particular, the project manager will gather inputs from internal teams and partners for actionable plans. Furthermore, they will set clear schedules and responsibilities to ensure accountability. By monitoring progress and resolving risks, they will foster collaboration across marketing, finance, and M&E teams.
Thirdly, the project manager will oversee the project cycle, including partner-led activities. For instance, they will lead review meetings to assess progress and manage changes to scope or budget. Moreover, they will evaluate partner performance and promote tools for effective execution and adaptive learning, ensuring quality across all activities.
Additionally, the project manager will coordinate data collection for accurate progress reports. Specifically, they will track KPIs, address gaps, and assist partners in documenting success stories. As a result, they will submit detailed donor reports, ensuring compliance and proper record retention. They will also maintain a centralized documentation system for all records.
Finally, candidates need a master’s degree in project management, development studies, or social sciences, plus seven years of experience in donor-funded projects. Therefore, they must have three years managing multi-stakeholder initiatives with expertise in reporting and coordination. Apply with your CV to TZ_Recruitment@finca.co.tz by May 13, 2025. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
