Hubert Kairuki Memorial University (HKMU) was initially established as Mikocheni International University of Health Sciences (MIUHS), later its name changed to Mikocheni International University (MIU), by Kairuki Health and Education Network (KHEN) in 1997.
In charge of keeping the supply inventory up to date and making purchases of products and services that satisfy the organization’s requirements for both quantity and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gathering, examining, and compiling purchase-related data and trends.
- Creating unit budget reports, locating suppliers, processing orders, and receiving and inspecting goods.
- In charge of managing fixed assets and conducting stocktakes.
- Verifying purchase requisitions by comparing products requested to master list; explaining ambiguous items; offering alternatives.
- Preparing purchase orders by checking the terms and cost; asking suppliers for suggestions on alternatives; and getting the requisitioning department’s approval.
- Submitting receiving paperwork to approve payment for goods.
- Placing orders with suppliers; keeping track of and completing orders for goods to be bought.
- Confirming receipt of goods by contrasting what was delivered with what was ordered.
- Sorting and filing documents to maintain information accessibility.
Requirements:
Excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities, particularly the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders in a multidisciplinary setting, are required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possessing a bachelor’s degree from a university in one of the following disciplines: Three (3) years of relevant work experience in a position analogous to materials management, procurement and logistics, management science, or an equivalent qualification, and possession of a Supplies Professional qualification, such as CSP (T), IPS (UK), or CPSP (T).
