KSCL is a subsidiary of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group, Africa’s largest sugar producer, with major agricultural and industrial activities in six African countries: South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique, Eswatini, Zambia, and Tanzania.
To establish Mill’s production strategy with a focus on long-term growth, maximum efficiency, and sustainability. Ensure production objectives are accomplished by following the manufacturing and packaging plan as part of S&OP while staying under budget and generating cost synergies.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the establishment of corporate strategies, targets, and key performance indicators.
- Align manufacturing performance across disciplines to achieve corporate objectives and KPIs.
- Plan and establish shift, daily, weekly, and monthly performance goals with the team.
- Identify and resolve areas of loss, waste, or flow impediments to promote progress.
- Drive performance management by rewarding excellent performance and controlling the repercussions.
- Promote operational and maintenance excellence, resulting in increased profitability via informed choices.
- Collaborate with your group counterparts to discover and implement optimization possibilities.
- Ensure compliance with commercial standards and promote successful supply-side planning.
- Plan and manage capital projects to achieve economic and societal goals.
- Implement continuous improvement processes, making sure you use the appropriate tools and approaches.
- Implement excellent team communication mechanisms to ensure stable operations and long-term performance.
- Develop leadership skills via coaching, mentoring, and direction.
- Follow corporate rules, including SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
Job Qualification and Experience
- Degree or equivalent in chemical, electrical, mechanical engineering, or science.
- A business or financial qualification would be advantageous.
- 10 years of manufacturing (production and/or upkeep).
- Good commercial acumen and manufacturing competence with the ability to predict, analyze, and react to developments affecting the functional area
- Proven management and leadership experience.
