Job Brief:
QC is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurements and Logistics Officer to join its team in Dar es Salaam. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the efficiency and compliance of procurement and logistics functions at the Tanzania Field Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire procurement cycle and support inventory management and logistics in line with QC standards and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurements (60%)
The officer will handle procurement activities from vendor sourcing to contract execution, ensuring adherence to QC policies and donor regulations. Responsibilities include preparing procurement documentation, maintaining an updated supplier database, monitoring procurement plans, and collaborating with internal teams to meet project needs. The role requires close attention to cost-efficiency, quality assurance, and audit preparedness.
Logistics & Support (40%)
This function entails coordinating the transport and storage of goods, managing inventory records, and supporting warehouse operations. The officer will ensure the smooth execution of travel logistics, equipment servicing, and fieldwork arrangements. Strong documentation and alignment with safety procedures are critical to this role, alongside consistent support to operational needs.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related fields and have a minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably in an INGO setting. Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, is required, while knowledge of ERP systems is a plus. Fluency in English and Kiswahili is mandatory, with Arabic considered an asset.
