Vacancy: Restless Development The position is for a Livelihood facilitator. Restless Development is a global non-profit agency. We support the collective power of young leaders to create a better world. Our vision for youth power unites us in nine countries (India, Nepal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, the UK, the USA, Zambia, and Zimbabwe) through independent registration and governance. We run youth-led programs to tackle the issues that young people care about the most. We also run the Youth Collective, a growing network of over 4000 local youth civil society groups and organisations in 185 countries. Restless Development in Tanzania has been operating for over 25 years, working across 18 regions, including rural and urban areas. We are looking for an innovative person with the right communication skills to join our team in an exciting role, which will push you to lead in developing our internal and external communications with key stakeholders, the media, and staff.
You will be a highly creative and self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili. We are looking for someone with strong ICT skills, experience with content creation for multiple communication platforms, including social media, and who is open to learning about new technology and communication tools. Experience in photography and videography would be an added advantage.
Essential
Qualification
- Degree/Diploma in a relevant field, preferably related to animal science, animal health, veterinary medicine and other related livestock keeping courses
- Experience in Community development, entrepreneurship and Poultry farming will be an added advantage
- Resident of Iringa municipal council if applying for Iringa post
- Resident of Morogoro region, preferably ifakara town council if applying for ifakara post
Experience
- I possess technical expertise in community development approaches and entrepreneurship.
- A clear understanding of the Education Approach especially Leadership, Gender and Entrepreneurship
- I possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, making me suitable for both youth (young mothers), parents, and local government audiences.
Desirable
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili
- Good ICT skills, including Word, Excel, email/internet, and PowerPoint
- A strong personal commitment to the values of Restless Development and the role of young people in the development
- Experience of working in a multicultural environment
