The Senior Manager Process Plant role is to develop and lead an effective site processing team capable of continuously delivering on business objectives and targets whilst further enhancing performance of process operations in a sustainable manner. The manager is required to manage, prioritize and solve complex business problems, using the resources available.
This is a high-impact leadership position at Geita Gold Mining Ltd, requiring a strong technical background, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive performance across the processing plant. The successful candidate will be tasked with balancing production efficiency, safety standards, environmental compliance, and team development while maintaining alignment with the company’s overarching goals.
Responsibilities:
This role involves leading the SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) management system to ensure a safe workplace with minimal environmental impact. The Senior Manager will be responsible for achieving production targets by optimizing plant throughput and recovery rates. Effective maintenance and cost control strategies will be essential in sustaining plant reliability and availability. The role also demands fostering continuous improvement and innovation across all areas of processing operations. Additionally, the manager will play a central role in business planning, capital project justification, and overseeing workforce training, performance, and succession planning.
Requirements:
Applicants must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and experience in managing a multidisciplinary team within a complex processing environment. A strong understanding of SHE practices, process automation, tailings dam management, metallurgical processes, and plant instrumentation is critical. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in advanced safety systems, business planning, and operational excellence tools. Analytical capabilities using SCADA, process simulation tools, and data-driven decision-making techniques like Pareto analysis and Excel are required. A sound grasp of engineering principles, metal accounting, and regulatory compliance, particularly related to tailings operations, is also essential.
