Contract: 24-month fixed-term Term Contract 
Hours: This is a full-time role with some flexibility around hours worked

Responsibilities

Sightsavers is looking for a data analyst with International Development programmatic experience who has worked with inclusive data and DHIS2. You will be extracting meaningful information, producing reports and dashboards to deadlines, and providing training and support to colleagues across the international organisation. This is a technical role, and someone with experience of Sightsavers key thematic areas of eye health, education, social inclusion, and NTDs would be particularly interested. 

Some key duties include: 

  • Create quarterly and yearly dashboards and data reports using Power BI, Excel, and DHIS2 for distribution throughout the organization.
  • Conduct data analysis for Sightsavers initiatives.
  • Improve national office data reporting mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with country offices to map and optimize project data flows.

Skills and Experience

Essential experience and skills for this role:  

  • Requirements for this position include a graduate-level degree or relevant professional experience in statistics, information systems, international development, public health, or other fields with a strong statistical or analytical component.
  • Proven experience using organizational data management systems and using statistical approaches to data in domains connected to Sightsavers’ thematic portfolio, including health, education, and international development.
  • Practical knowledge with data quality and cleaning techniques for preparing data sets for use in analytics applications.
  • Experience creating capability and assisting personnel in various situations (face-to-face and online) to meet organizational data gathering deadlines.
  • Understanding of worldwide development challenges as well as a dedication to fair opportunities for disabled persons.
  • Practical experience with DHIS2 for data collection, reporting, and visualization.
  • Experience in digital transformation and implementing new software/tools/working habits within a company.
  • Proficient in using data visualization applications, such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience in using Power Query to extract, process, load, and connect data from various sources.
  • Capable of collaborating with many parties and successfully managing competing concerns and objectives.
  • Fluent in English and have written reports and briefings in the language.

Desirable experience and skills:  

  • Requirements: Master’s degree in international development, relations, geography, statistics, or a related field.
  • Language skills: French and/or Portuguese.
