SimbaNET Tanzania Hiring Procurement & Logistics Officer

SimbaNET Tanzania Limited is part of the Wananchi Group and one of East Africa’s leading Internet and data solutions providers.

We are looking for a procurement and logistics officer to manage all procurement and logistics activities in Tanzania (Wananchi Group Entities). They will report to the Country Finance Manager with a dotted line to the Wananchi Group’s Procurement & Logistics HOD.

Responsibilities:

• Complete the procurement cycle from requisition to final delivery. Receive requisitions, obtain quotations from vendors, and negotiate to secure the best rates. Choose the finest supplier who provides the firm with the best value for money and lead times while maintaining product quality in accordance with the established standards and expectations.
• Ensure that the inventory and stock levels do not fall below the economic order quantity.
• Adherence to importation procedures: Ensure items are cleared on time, act as custodian for these commodities, and cost all inventory using the company’s standard software (Sage Pastel).
• Maintain solid connections with suppliers and demonstrate outstanding communication skills when engaging suppliers and internal stakeholders, such as user departments and management.
• Manage both local and foreign vendors.

Skills, Knowledge:

• 3+ years of relevant experience, including proven work experience as a procurement officer and negotiation skills.

Education:

• Post-Graduate Diploma in International Trade, Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Management, and CPSP certification are required.
