Six Rivers Africa (SRA) is a Tanzanian registered NGO dedicated to understanding, preserving, and restoring flora and fauna in wilderness areas, as well as assisting nearby people through partnership with government authorities and conservation partners.

We are searching for a detail-oriented, resourceful Procurement Officer to join our team. The individual will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring items and services that are critical to our organization’s operations. The ideal applicant should have strong analytical ability, great negotiation skills, and a thorough understanding of supply chain management principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Source and assess vendors based on quality, price, dependability, and service.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers to obtain more favorable price and terms.
  • Analyze market trends and stay abreast of industry changes that may affect procurement plans.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements, and offer direction and assistance throughout the procurement process.
  • And provide assistance throughout the purchase process.
  • Develop and maintain solid connections with suppliers to guarantee that goods and services are delivered on time while maintaining quality.
  • Manage the whole procurement process, from requisition to delivery, including order placing, tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular supplier reviews to guarantee contractual compliance.

Qualification required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related profession. Master’s degree is preferable.
  • Proven experience of at least two years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in an NGO setting.
  • Strong negotiating abilities, including the ability to create cost savings and secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with procurement applications and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle several priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, including the ability to establish and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Understanding of procurement best practices, market trends, and regulatory needs.
  • Certification Procurement Professional CPSP (T), Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply certification (MCIPS), or any other certification will be considered.
