About Us:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced credit controller to join our dynamic team at Strategis Insurance Tanzania Limited. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the credit control process, ensuring timely premium collections, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement effective credit control policies and procedures.
2. Monitor and manage outstanding accounts receivable, ensuring compliance with cash-and-carry regulations.
3. Maintain accurate records of client communications and account status updates.
4. Review and reconcile client accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
5. Collaborate with the Underwriting, Claims, and Finance departments to verify policy details and payments.
6. Allocate receipts promptly to intermediaries and direct customers.
7. Ensure collection targets align with the company’s strategic objectives, avoiding credit offerings.
8. Coordinate collections, reconciliations, and banking, and pursue legal action for defaulters to maximize collections.
9. Follow up on Insurance Premium Finance (IPF) payments with partner banks.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Result Areas and Performance Indicators:

• Achieve collection targets to support the company’s financial obligations and return on investment.
• Ensure strict adherence to the company’s credit policy for compliance.
• Clear allocation (matching) of receipts on a monthly basis.

Interactions:

• Internal: Regular collaboration with finance staff, head office personnel, and sales points.
• External: intermediaries, other insurance companies, lawyers, debt collectors, banks (IPF), and direct clients.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or equivalent); additional professional certificates are an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in credit control, preferably in the insurance industry.
• Hardworking, committed self-starter with strong time management skills.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• High integrity, ethical values, a positive attitude, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Team player with excellent communication abilities.
