TAHA is an apex private sector member-based organization mandated to develop and promote horticulture (flowers, fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, and horticultural seeds) in Tanzania. TAHA’s goal is to improve the growth and competitiveness of the horticultural industry in the country for social and economic gains. TAHA is a unified voicing platform for Tanzanian horticulture, representing farmers at all levels, processors, exporters, and service providers in the horticultural industry in Tanzania.
The TARIC Manager will be responsible for coordinating and implementing research and information activities that support the horticultural sector in Tanzania. This role will involve engaging with stakeholders, managing research partnerships, operationalizing the digital platform, and leading a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinating horticultural research and information generation and dissemination.
- Identify and address key research issues within the horticulture sector.
- Establish and operationalize strategic research partnerships within the agricultural sector.
- Coordinate the implementation of the research partnership platform in horticulture.
- Address specific data and information requests by stakeholders.
Partnership Management and Resource Mobilization
- Identify and mobilize financial, technical, and human resources to support and facilitate implementation of TARIC activities.
- Develop strategic partnerships that enhance the capacity and reach of TARIC’s initiatives.
Operationalization of TARIC Digital Platform
- Provide strategic guidance and direction on the design, functionality, and user experience of TARIC’s digital platforms to ensure they meet stakeholder needs.
Team Management
- Assemble and manage a team of professionals with the requisite skills and expertise for the successful operationalization of TARIC.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, agricultural economics, business management, or a related field.
- A postgraduate degree will be considered an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in research and information
management, preferably within the agricultural or horticultural sectors. - Proven track record in managing research initiatives and partnerships.
- Experience in resource mobilization and stakeholder engagement.
