We are looking for a Driver Trainer to provide work direction, provide in-house training sessions, and monitor performance. The Driver Trainer will lead training sessions on topics such as new employee orientation, on-the-job training, and safety standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct practical driver skills assessments before employment.
- Assist in investigating incidents and accidents at your workstation.
- Identify training needs from incidents/accidents and recommend appropriate training requirements to fulfill required performance criteria. Retrain as needed.
- Present training to learners, explaining and discussing content, clarifying terminology, and presenting instances to ensure knowledge and learning of the course content.
- Testing and on-route appraisal of drivers
- Regular in-cab assessments for all drivers
- Collaborate with the HRD coordinator to create long and short-term training strategies.
- Provide on-the-job training for operators and drivers.
- Use machine management approaches to increase workplace safety and efficiency.
- Provide work guidance in accordance with the work instructions issued by the customer from time to time.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to run many machines.
- A minimum of secondary education is required, and a trainer/driver instructor certificate, as well as a defensive driving training certificate, will be advantageous.
- A minimum of three years’ experience as a driving trainer.
- The ability to operate various machines/vehicles, particularly the Lory-Long truck, tractor, and grader/excavator/Bell tractor, will be an added advantage.
- Verified driver’s license with courses E, G, and F.
- Very familiar with the Road Traffic Act and its restrictions.
- Basic computing expertise.
- Must be Tanzanian.
- Age limit: 45 years old.
- Self-motivated, having the potential to inspire others.
- Effective time management abilities.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, as well as a high level of ethics.
- OSHA-related trainings.
