The Director of Temeke Municipal Council warmly invites enthusiastic and qualified Tanzanian citizens to apply for an exciting opportunity to join our team. This vacancy is open following approval from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance on March 13, 2025.
Open Vacancy and Description
1. Driver Class II (1 Post)
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure vehicle safety by inspecting it before and after trips.
- Safely transport staff to various locations for official duties.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle logbooks.
- Collect and deliver documents as required.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Form Four (O-Level) with a valid certificate.
- Valid Class ‘C’ or ‘E’ driving license.
- At least one year of accident-free driving experience.
- Completion of a basic driving course from VETA or a recognized institution.
Salary:
As per the government’s TGS-B salary scale.
General Requirements:
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged 18–45 years.

- Current government employees applying for a different role must submit their application through their employer.
- Provide a detailed CV with reliable contact details and at least three referees.

- Note: Result slips or provisional statements for Form IV/VI will not be accepted.
- Applicants with foreign certificates must have them verified by TCU, NECTA, or NACTE.
- Retired public servants are ineligible unless they have special permission from the Chief Secretary.
- Submitting false information will result in legal consequences.
