Responsibilities include:
- Operations Management: Oversee policies, procedures, and the acquisition of products and services. Coordinate and support organizational systems and processes for YCI Zanzibar.
- Financial Management: In order to guarantee proper financial and administrative management and adherence to donor regulations, collaborate with YCI Headquarters; Create and produce excellent financial reports, oversee and keep an eye on cash flows linked to project costs, such as processing staff payroll, paying employee income taxes, and making payment contributions.
- Technical Support and Training: As needed, provide project personnel, volunteers, partners, and external stakeholders with technical onboarding, training, guidance, and support about the procedures, policies, and specifications for finance, operations, and human resources.
- Volunteer Management: Provide coaching and mentorship to ensure that foreign volunteers are meaningfully engaged in and integrated into the HerStart program. Oversee international volunteers in their professional deliverables that further the aims of HerStart and/or partner organizations.
Skills and Experience:
- You are a self-starter with 5+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in finance, operations, procurement and/or human resources with a robust understanding of organizational accounting and financial functions
- You have an understanding of, and compatible vision for, sustainable community development, an appreciation of the contribution of volunteers to international development and ideally, are experienced in supporting or working with volunteers
- You have demonstrated experience providing management and oversight of office operations, and the ability to explain accounting or financial concepts to necessary project stakeholders
- You have a strong command of Microsoft Excel and other accounting software, with an analytical attention to detail
- You are an effective communicator with excellent written and verbal English proficiency
- You are a permanent resident or a Citizen of Tanzania (preference will be given to Zanzibar residents.
