CEELS will implement a PEPFAR project, funded by WRAIR through HJFMR-Tanzania. Named the Southern Highlands Program (SHL), this project seeks to work with the Ministry of Health (MOH), PO-Regional Authorities and Local Government, MCDGEC to deliver comprehensive community-based prevention, care, treatment and support services for the SHL project.

Open Positions and Description

1. HIV Testing Services (HTS) Counselors or Providers – Ten (10) Positions

Key roles and Responsibilities:

  • To use creative, data-driven methods to provide HTS to specific demographic subsets using various community HTS modalities, such as mobile testing, social network tactics, index testing services, and moonlight testing as needed.
  • Visit the care and treatment center and follow up with them (CTC)
  • Raising community awareness and generating demand for HTS services
  • When providing services, respect client privacy and confidentiality.
  • Sustain cooperative relationships and efficient communication with other community and organizational stakeholders.
  • Assist with bio-directional linking and referral networks, and offer psychosocial support

Qualification:

  • A diploma or higher in medical laboratory science, clinicals (clinical medicine, MD), nursing (EN, RN, midwifery), or clinical science with experience in providing HTS.
  • A minimum of three years of work experience in HIV programs; involvement in community-based HIV initiatives is advantageous.
  • A certification for non-laboratory HIV fast testing gives a candidate an extra edge. If they succeed, others without will have to apply for this certification.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Kiswahili and English Availability to remain at one’s workstation Completely.
